Paramount Residential Mortgage Group Inc. (PRMG) is excited to announce the addition of Laura Fowler as the new Non-QM Underwriting Manager. With over 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry, Laura brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to her role, where she will be responsible for overseeing a team of skilled professionals in various key underwriting areas.

A proud graduate with a BS in Business Psychology from California State University, Sacramento (CSUS), Laura’s journey in the mortgage industry began soon after college, when she was recruited into banking. She quickly transitioned into sales management at The Money Store, and from there, her passion for mortgages ignited. Laura’s extensive career includes positions with major companies such as Countrywide/Full Spectrum, Academy Mortgage, Caliber, and LoanStream. Her expertise spans a wide range of functions, including AVP/Sales Manager, Broker, AVP of an operations center, and most recently, UW Manager for the past seven years.

At PRMG, Laura will manage two skilled team leads who are responsible for overseeing a team of 12 underwriters, as well as additional critical desks such as the bank statement calculation desk, exception request desk, and scenario desk. Her leadership will focus on enhancing customer service, improving turn times, increasing efficiency, and strengthening communication within the Non-QM department.

Laura’s experience and leadership in the mortgage industry will be invaluable in driving the Non-QM department forward. Her strategic approach and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in increasing PRMG ‘s funded loan volume and providing top-tier service to clients.

In her new role, Laura aims to accomplish substantial month-over-month increases in funded loan volume by improving internal processes and delivering exceptional service. Outside of work, Laura enjoys staying active with hobbies such as playing league tennis, downhill skiing, and horseback riding around the trails of Folsom Lake. She also lives by the quote, “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.”
