DE Underwriter


Job Summary:
Responsible for the prudent underwriting of conventional and FHA/VA loans in accordance with company and investor guidelines. The duties for Wholesale Underwriter include, but are not limited to, those described below.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Communication: Liaises among borrowers, investors and escrow companies to communicate decisions on loans.
  • Organization: Ensures loan files are complete with all outstanding issues addressed.
  • Equipment: Uses such office equipment as computer terminals, copiers and FAX machines.
  • Physical:  Sits for extended time periods. Hearing and vision within normal ranges.

 Responsibilities:

  •    Completes a thorough analysis of loan files to determine compliance with company, investor, and FHA/VA guidelines.
  •    Evaluates the entire credit package and collateral for residential mortgage loans and ultimately ensures an “investment” quality loan product.
  •    Checks accuracy of all calculations.
  •    Assists with the training of new underwriters.
  •    Recommends the loan disposition to underwriting manager for loan amounts in excess of authority limitation.
  •    Maintains company standard for productivity level, and complies with company policy of 48 hour underwriting turnaround time and 24 hour turnaround time for clearing conditions.
  •    Communicates decision on loans to appropriate parties both verbally and in writing.
  •    Maintains underwriting activity logs and provides monthly underwriting report to underwriting manager.
  •    Available to processors and correspondents for general guideline interpretations and questions on specific loan files.
  •    Responds to post closing reviews and audits in a timely fashion.
  •    Performs related duties, as directed by Underwriting or Operations Manager.
Experience:
  •    Minimum three years of mortgage underwriting experience, with solid working knowledge of underwriting guidelines.
  •    Experience with private investor and private mortgage insurance guidelines.
 Skills:

Account Executive
 

Job Summary:

 

Develops new business prospects in specific geographic areas through cold calls. Interacts with existing customers to increase sales of the Company’s products and services. The duties for External Account Executive include, but are not limited to, those described below.


Essential Job Functions:
  • Organization: Develops and implements relationship strategies for selling bank product, satisfying customer needs through a full array of products and services.
  • Coordination: Utilizes business development skills to establish new business.
  • Communication: Communicates well verbally and in writing with co-workers and customers acting as liaison between account and Company’s internal departments to ensure cohesive business flow.
  • Equipment: Uses such office equipment as computer terminals, copiers and FAX machines.

Responsibilities:

  • Sources and develops new account relationships
  • Maintains contact with client base on a daily basis to solicit new business.

  • Monitors Company’s computer based pipeline reports on a daily basis for prompt cancellation dead files and to ensure timely delivery of live files.
  • Maintains familiarity with the applicable state licensing requirements.

  • Handles questions from accounts regarding underwriting, processing and funding flow.
  • Performs a variety of tasks maintaining familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. 
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Experience:

  • One to three years of related sales experience.
  • Experience in mortgage operations preferred.

Loan Officer

 

Job Summary:

Originates investment quality loans by selling firm's loan products and services to meet the needs of its client base. Responsible for the overall customer interaction and interface with all parties involved on each individual loan that is originated from application to closing, including but not limited to: counseling and pre-qualifying potential borrowers; taking or reviewing applications received for complete and accurate; obtaining all necessary support documents along with the appropriate fee and lock-in information; overseeing the loan process by monitoring loan status and ensuring conformity with terms; assisting in collecting additional documents and promptly communicating loan status to all interested parties, and obtaining loan documentation after closing, as directed by management.

Responsibilities:
  • Sources, develops and structures mortgage financing requests for new and existing customers.
  • Negotiates terms, structures loan financing based on risk considerations and presents credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority as required.
  • Utilizes in-house programs to meet customers’ credit needs with alternative broker product a secondary choice.
  • Assists customers with inquiries and information requests, and resolves complaints relating to loan products and services offered.
Pre-requisites:
  • Minimum two years of lending experience.
  • Working knowledge of standard loan products in the industry, various state guidelines and strong familiarity with underwriting standards.
Skills:
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Strong interpersonal-communication and business-relationship skills.

Doc Drawer
  

Job Summary:

Manages all clerical tasks necessary to facilitate timely drawing of loan documents. The duties for Doc Drawer include, but are not limited to, those described below.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Communication: Liaises among customers (both internal and external) and escrow companies to coordinate document preparation, loan signing, funding and recording of documents.
  • Organization: Ensures loan files are complete with all outstanding issues addressed prior to submission for funding.
  • Coordination: Coordinates funding requests and follows up for required documentation and conditions for all pre- and post-closing items.
  • Equipment: Uses such office equipment as computer terminals, copiers and FAX machines.
  • Physical:  Sits for extended time periods. Hearing and vision within normal ranges.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and routes closing document packages, including loan docs and escrow instructions to appropriate destinations.
  • Maintains document mailing/conversation log.
  • Identify and review problem files and take corrective action to facilitate accurate document preparation; inform manager on status of problem files, requesting assistance if necessary.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of  drawing loan docs (or comparable experience.)

Processor
 

Job Summary:


Performs the daily functions connected with loan processing. Effectively processes loans in accordance with company policies and procedures. The duties for Processor include, but are not limited to, those described below.

Responsibilities:

  • Verifies, compiles, and inputs application information for mortgage loans:
  • Reviews residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards, including type and amount of mortgage applied for including but not limited to borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment.
  • Recommends that loan not meeting standards be denied.
  • Calls or writes credit bureau and/or employer to verify accuracy of information.
  • Types loan application forms, using computer.
  • Calls specified companies to obtain property abstract, survey, and appraisal.
  • Informs supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey.
  • Submits mortgage loan application file for underwriting approval.
  • Types and mails approval and denial letters to applicants.
  • Submits approved mortgage loan file to closing party for settlement.
  • Records data on status of loans, including number of new applications and loans approved, canceled, or denied, using computer.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Two to five years of loan processing experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to make sound judgments regarding the resolution of customer service issues.
  • Ability to problem-solve and exercise independent judgment while displaying a high degree of initiative.
  • Ability to handle detailed assignments and maintain confidentiality.
